A modern frequency converter is currently not only a device for regulating the speed of asynchronous motors, but also a means for implementing simple automation systems of technological processes. One such process is the control of water supply stations with several pumps, where Danfoss Aqua series frequency converters are successfully used. In order to increase the awareness of students of the AEMC department, the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management, in the field of water supply automation systems, the stakeholder of the Department of AEMC LLC “YUGOV-Proekt” was involved in the process of modernization of the development of research and educational stands.

This company is an official distributor of Danfoss, and as part of cooperation with the department, its representatives provided a control cabinet with a frequency converter to the laboratory of automation of technological processes.

In addition to the main function of adjusting the output parameter, “YUGOV – Proekt” specialists integrated into the control cabinet the possibility of turning on an additional pump, turning off the pumps when the dry run sensor is triggered.

Now AEMC students will be able to acquire practical skills in setting PID – regulators, activation of cascade control of pumps, removal of transient processes by pressure and engine speed.
