On October 12–19, 2025, the Head of the Department, as a leading expert and head of the research group on the implementation of SAF in aviation, took part in the General Assembly meeting of the participants of the project “Environmentally Friendly Aviation for All Classes of Aircraft” (EFACA) under the Horizon Europe program.
The current international consortium includes seven teams of researchers from European educational and scientific institutions and three teams from Ukraine — ANTONOV Company, JSC “IVCHENKO-PROGRESS”, and SERA. The event took place at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), Spain.
The agenda focused on:
- The current state and prospects of Decarbonization Technologies in Aviation (development of a medium-range aircraft with a hydrogen energy system, implementation of SAF, etc.).
- Improvement of the anti-icing technology of modern aircraft (electrical components and treatment with special anti-icing reagents).
Participants actively discussed the formation of new international consortia for participation in upcoming project proposals. The project proposals from Ukrainian scientists and aerospace manufacturers received positive recognition from the international community during the event.
The conclusion of the Assembly meeting was inspiring and optimistic, setting a promising direction for sustainable cooperation and the advancement of engineering ideas. Significant progress and new opportunities for collaboration were noted!
