The Ukrainian Hydrogen Council together with the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI named after Igor Sikorsky) continue to actively develop educational, scientific and practical activities in the field of hydrogen technologies

Last year, as part of the Memorandum of Cooperation, we jointly opened the educational and scientific laboratory “Innovative technologies in energy and transport”, which became an important center for the practical training of future specialists 👩‍🎓👨‍🎓. For the laboratory, the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council handed over a Toyota Mirai car on fuel cells 🚗, which serves as a base for research and training. Scientists and students are actively working on the development of an electrolyzer, a fuel cell and a car refueling system⛽️, and have also prepared the first drawings 📐.

We also jointly developed the project of the bachelor’s level educational and professional program “Automation and technical design of hydrogen and bioenergy systems” 🎓📘, the recruitment of students for which will start from the next academic year.

At the same time, the certificate program “Engineering and automation of hydrogen energy systems and technologies” has been successfully operating for two years at the master’s level. This program provides enhanced training of energy workers ⚡️👩‍🔧👨‍🔧 in the field of hydrogen systems engineering. Currently, we are actively working on updating the program in cooperation with stakeholders and developing a plan for lectures that will start in January 2025.

In addition, we are preparing for publication a textbook on hydrogen infrastructure 📖, which will be another step to increase access to quality specialized literature 📚✨.

Why is this important?

The development of hydrogen technologies 🌿🔋 is a key element of the energy transformation of Ukraine 🇺🇦 and the world 🌎. The training of highly qualified personnel in this field is a critically important step for strengthening the national scientific potential and creating new opportunities for industry.

Cooperation of the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council and KPI named after Sikorsky not only contributes to the formation of new knowledge and competences, but also contributes to the global goal of transition to ecologically clean energy sources 🌍🔋. We believe that this partnership will be an example of successful integration of science, education and innovation for a sustainable future 🌟🌱
